Welcome to the musical world of Michael Kuntz. I had a diverse musical upbringing, with Mom providing the classical music training, Dad the Elvis crooning…and both gave me the ears which I used to develop perfect pitch in sixth grade. Our family moved to California in the mid-Eighties, and I was soon taking business and music courses at San Jose State University while playing tuba at Great America for five years. The Forté Brass Quintet introduced me to chamber music, and Brass Act Quintet asked me to be their tubist in 1992; I am also a long time member of The Brassworks Band. I have performed with Symphony Silicon Valley, the Churchill Street Jazz Band, the San Luis Obispo & Santa Rosa Symphonies, the San Francisco 49ers Band, and many other groups. Most recently, I am performing with the Golden Gate Park Band, the Santa Cruz Symphony, the Green Street Mortuary Band, and the Mendocino Music Festival Orchestra, plus playing electric bass in a rock project or two.
